Stone Hall Mansion
Stone Hall Mansion is a divine beauty in Hermitage. It was built for the Cantrell family in 1918 by Nashville architect George Waller; Stone Hall is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places as a significant example of Colonial Revival architecture. The stonework, symmetrical facade design, doorway with sidelights and transom, tile roof with hip roof dormers, many light windows, and big multiple light bay windows of the two-story house show its Colonial Revival style. Inside, the house keeps floor plans, ancient woodwork, and fireplaces. The home's exterior gains a craftsman touch from the entrance and parts of the interior woodwork. Comprising 12 acres, the site also features a lovely three-story log cabin called Eversong, which reflects a distinct Colonial Revival interpretation. Originally relocated from Williamson County, the cabin rests on the Stone River's bluff and provides guest accommodation for Stone Hall. It has exposed logs and other original architectural elements reflecting twentieth-century early colonial house portrayal.
