Excellent customer service, my only gripe was the raised rent barely 6 months using the storage. I understand San Diego real estate gets pricey but $10 increase/month for a 5 x 8 room?? Was not happy about that and left.

Perfect location just right down the street from our apartment. I only needed the unit for about 6 months while I cleaned up my life and clutter. Super easy access, friendly employees, and very affordable for the size unit I had. All my items were kept safe, dry, free from rodents and in great condition when I cleared everything out. I was on second floor but the elevator and push carts were always available and super easy to use. Thank you A1!!

The service was very great the staff was friendly. They explained everything walked me to my unit and everything. I highly recommend this location. On top of that I did online rental as well and that process was great as well.

Shawn and coworker we're professional, friendly, and considerate to all my questions. They were totally accommodating to me arriving late at 5:42 p.m. due to commuter traffic and a wrong turn! There are several A-1 Storage in my area I left there feeling I chosen the right one. Thank you

I used this location because is is centrally located smack dab in the center of town. I commute to east county quite a bit so this location is perfect for me to pick things up and drop things off if I need to.
It is continently located right off the freeway so getting on and off is a breeze.
Getting a storage unit was a last minute decision for me but the staff and online reservation option made it extremely simple to pick the options that worked for me. I also got 50% off the first month which was nice. The only thing I was unaware of was needing proof of renters insurance. That will save you a little bit of cash each month.

Shawn was so helpful. She drove us down to our unit on her golf cart and answered all of our questions! She also told us about an offer to get a free cylinder lock.
Overall, the location was convenient and the security seemed very good. I feel very confident that our stuff will be safe and accessible there.

The staff at this storage facility is OUTSTANDING! Amanda is very friendly and helpful. She showed us the unit and how easy it was to use the elevator. ALWAYS CLEAN! Office is always decorated with the season. The BEST FACILITY I HAVE EVER RENTED FROM BY FAR!

SUPER helpful and courteous staff! Staff helped us pick the correct size of locker to fit our needs; 5 x 5.
Our locker ended up being in the G area, which was perfect! Indoor temperature (in mid August) was VERY cool & comfortable which made it SO nice for loading and unloading our things! I went into some of the other locker sections/buildings, and found them to be VERY hot! Perhaps they got more direct sunlight than our G section of the building got.
Overall, our experience was great! SUPER convenient location to SDSU!

The manager and customer service representative were extremely helpful and very kind. They were professional and walked us through the entire process. I highly recommend this location. Excellent customer service! Plus, the facility was nice and clean. The storage unit was exactly as expected. No complaints.

I called in to let A1 know that I would be leaving sometime within the first week of the following month to find exactly what I needed to do. I wasn't sure of the exact date at that moment. I asked them exactly how it all worked. The gentleman on the phone told me i had to pay for that month in advance. I pay on line and there's no option to pay for a week or 2 weeks only the one month. After I moved out I inquired about a refund for the time I was not there and was told they could not refund anything. At that time I was told that they had tried to call me but couldn't contact me after my 1st call. I asked why they couldn't have emailed me since they email me the bill. The gentleman said that they couldn't email me. I was there over 9 months paid on time and dont understand why its impossible to refund .e for the 2 weeks I didn't use. If I had known that I would have not rushed my move.

Kristina and Shawn were both extremely helpful and friendly when I came in to rent a storage unit. I've been going through a rough financial spot as of late and have never used a facility like this before.......but these ladies were very professional and answered all of my questions. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for short or long term storage.

A unit was available on the 2nd floor but desired a ground floor so I reserved it. Within a week a ground a ground floor unit was available and changed my reservation and moved in by the end of the week. Krista and Shawn were very helpful through out the process.
Remodeling is close to being a thing of the past, Unit is empty now and turned over to A-1. It met all our needs.

Great place for Storage. I'd give 5 stars however, the entrance is difficult to navigate. You need to park on the road as the front office is behind a large gate. Then walk in. That was my only issue! Other than that, things are great. my stuff is stored.

The staff here are WONDERFUL!! So so helpful, excellent communication and follow-up as well as follow-through. This location is only one exit away from SDSU and so convenient. Shawn was so AWESOME! Its my daughters first time away from home in the college dorms in San Diego. I live in Hawaii, and its so stressful trying to figure out how to get her moved from a distance. Shawn made this transition so much less stressful. She was so helpful and empathetic. She said she has a college-aged daughter too and can understand and relate. She went above and beyond in her customer service! Thank you to Shawn and her amazing team there!!

A-1 storage on Alvarado canyon rd in San Diego was the location I chose for storing my belongings this past year. I was more than happy with the customer service I received as well as the cleanliness and security of the facility. The prices are reasonable and they have a wide range of unit sizes I was able to choose from. They offer online payments which made things very convenient when I was away. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because of the price increase after ONLY 4 MONTHS! The staff was great, gave me plenty of information and the place is open pretty late. Its gated with passcode to get in and out. Area was kept cleaned and somewhat available carts, didn't see very many but there was one available when I needed one so there's that. But HEADS UP, PRICE INCREASE after only a few short months. Move it or lose. it.

Excellent customer service! Ms. Jessica was very personable and professional. The staff at this facility take the time to ensure that clients get a thorough break down of the storage units respective pricing and they escort you by way of a motorized golf cart. The spaces within looked clean, well maintained and lit. It was also noted that they offer military discounts for rentals beyond the first month.It was a pleasure doing business with them. The staff were friendly enough. the first person who helped me gave me the wrong gate code and when I went back to the office the lady seemed less then thrilled to help me. After that it was smooth sailing. The facilities are clean and there was very little noise, The hours to come in and out were somewhat inconvenient though. All in all it wasn't a bad experience though.

Being evicted for the attempt to change my outfit with my unit door down. I was in the unit for less than 5 minutes. I've seen homeless people live in those units and now I am being evicted without even warning! Would never think that could happen to me!!! I called to explain what happened but they didn't care to listen. Besides experiencing extreme embarrassment I have to move out in 10 days. My worst experience, will never recommend a-1 storage to any of my friends or more importantly customers that I've been referring to them in the past.
I never complained about their broken lift when I had to carry tons of heavy items up the stairs but now am being a victim of an awful customer service.

I had to find a storage unit in a hurry and as I drive by the A-1 Self Storage in Mission Valley every day, I checked them out on the Internet first. I "chatted" with Lacey who answered all of my questions regarding the size of the unit I needed for the furniture I was going to store. Kayla called within 20 minutes of making my reservation to ask if I had any questions or concerns. When I did visit the facility the next day, Chris was thorough, courteous and professional in helping to get the paperwork done quickly so I could enjoy the remainder of my weekend. Due to unforseen circumstances, I had to cancel my unit the very next day. Once again, Chris took care of my situation quickly and with the same courtesy and professionalism he showed the day before. If I'm ever in need of storage space in the future, I wouldn't go any other place but A-1 Self Storage, Mission Valley!! It's a top-class facility!
