The Privileges of Storing at Medical Center
June 30th, 2009Where is the perfect location? What makes that location so perfect? Is it the staff? How about the security? It all depends on what you feel is the most important reason for choosing a storage facility.
StorPlace of Medical Center is located in the heart of downtown Nashville on Charlotte Ave between 16th and 17th Avenue, located near Nashville West End. We are right next to Centennial Medical Center, Baptist Hospital and just a few blocks from Vanderbilt. Due to this great location a majority of storage needs are from the hospitals nearby. S Medical Center has lots of pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment reps and medical files. A lot of major insurance companies require doctors to keep a copy of their patient medical records off site from the hospital, so that in case of a fire or other natural disasters they would not lose the records. There are also a lot of small businesses on Charlotte Ave that need extra mini storage space as well. This location also has residential storage for people moving and for those who are living in small studio apartments and just don’t have room for all of their belongings.
Now that we have discussed what makes for a perfect location, let’s talk about what makes that property perfect for your needs. A lot of people choose a storage facility for its security. The Medical Center facility has a great surveillance system with numerous cameras located throughout the facility. The security system is set up so that when somebody passes in front of the camera, it will start recording and will continue to record until that person is no longer in the camera’s view. Also the facility has a 12 to 14 foot tall wall surrounding the facility with razor wire around the top of the wall. The only way into the facility is through the main gate which you have to have a personalized code to enter and exit. Business owners may need other reasons for storage. They may need to store a business vehicle or need a storage unit that can accept deliveries. Small businesses also sometimes need to keep track of their employees and since we keep a gate log of all tenants as they come and go, it is easy for a business owner to stop in at the office and get a print out of all the times that their gate code was used to enter and exit the property. Also if a business has quite a few employees that will be using the storage unit but don’t want them all to have a key, StorPlace can keep a key on file to hand out to those employees to access the storage unit.
This location is also conveniently located among the many schools that Nashville has to offer. Every year we are flooded with students from all over the country going home for the summer. Some of those schools include Vanderbilt Nashville Belmont, Fisk, Meharry Medical, TSU to name a few. These students depend on us to make sure their personal belongings remain safe and secure throughout the summer months until they return in the fall to continue their educations. Unfortunately space is limited so every year we have to turn people away. The students who are not fortunate enough to get a space here, return earlier the following year. This year they started securing space as early as January. They know the early bird gets the worm, so to speak. The students we turn away this year will be here earlier next year, especially after having to haul the personal property miles out of the way to another storage facility. The students that return every year not only return because of the location but also because of the way they are treated by the ever so friendly staff.
