StorPlace Self Storage Celebrates Spring and Summer Flowers

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

This is the time of the year that we clean out closets and make room for more things. All our things are treasures .They might be our husband’s good shirt or fishing supplies, or golf clubs that he hasn’t used in a long time. Then, there are the bicycles that we just keep cleaning the dust off so when we get time we will use them later. And we have all the camping supplies that we just keep buying hoping we will go some time. There are just some things that we can’t live without so we just keep storing things.

And there  are the outside tools we have to keep close so we can  take care of  everything  that needs to be done outside. So we  purchase  a lot of those supplies and then we need a large garage to store them in. Then we get too much in the garage and we need more space at home for the cars.

We are looking for a place with security and well lighted to go there and check the storage unit out to go though things. When it is dark, we want to make sure that we feel safe.

Then we call StorPlace Self Storage to check out the prices and sizes and availability on self storage.

When we get the StorPlace Self Storage at Cool Springs Nashville manager on the phone, she takes all our worries away and then she tell us what we need to take care of all our things.

Some people call it spring cleaning or maybe they decide to have a garage sale or just throw it away. Some people get a storage unit and go though things and get organized so they can know what they have. Sometimes we can go though things and find a lot of treasures that we didn’t know that we had and maybe its things from our parents or grandparents. There are things that we don’t want to part with at this time so we keep it so we can hand it down to another part of the family.

And now we can start setting out flowers and spring cleaning with all the things are in storage and we don’t have to worry with that stuff anymore because it’s out of our way.

We can get the house ready to sell or maybe just clean or maybe just want paint and remodel the house. Now that will give more time to work on other things during the summer. So you can visit with your family and friends and have no worries.

Just remember when you have a lot of things to get out of your way you can always call StorPlace Self Storage  and ask them for help getting ready for the summer when it’s time to play and have fun. There are 11 locations to choose from and the managers are ready to help with all your needs and answer all your questions. They can even help you with all your packing supplies.

Please come visit us at 1006 Flagpole Court, Brentwood, TN 37027, or you can call us at 615-373-3006.

It’s getting to be time of the year for some spring cleaning!  Putting the winter stuff away and bringing out the spring and summer items that have been stored in your garage, basement or attic.  Instead of putting your winter stuff in the garage, basement or attic, why not rent a space from StorPlace?  We have just about any size units you could think of, from 3 x 3 all the way up to 15 x 15 or even extra parking for those boats and jet skis.  Rent a space from 10 x 25 or even 10 x 30.   Some locations have covered canopies to help protect your paint in case you don’t have a cover for it.  Whatever your need, I’m sure we have the space.  Whether it is a need for heated and cooled, or pull up ground accessible, for easy access, we have it.  We are never more than a phone call away.  Even better, just drop by any one of our 10 locations throughout Middle Tennessee  Nashville and one of our friendly staff will be more than willing to help you assess your needs.

StorPlace Self Storage:The Cleanest and Safest Storage Facility Around

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Lions and tigers and Bears oh my” If Dorothy, Tin Man and Lion were to rent self storage they might be chanting “Snakes and Spiders and Mice oh my” instead.

Where there is no guarantee that these critters don’t once in awhile present themselves, there are many variances to the amenities storage facilities provide. One should consider many circumstances before renting a storage unit.  This is a business decision where you really do get what you pay for.

StorPlace Self Storage, in Murfreesboro Tennessee Nashville...Your “Neighborhood” storage facility does provide a well lit property, and monthly pest prevention. These two combined with the employee efforts of maintaining swept hallways, daily walk through verifications, and monthly space audits are just a few reasons why choosing a storage unit at StorPlace Self Storage  would be a safe and consistent bet for storage needs.

The spring months are generally a great time to start cleaning and de-cluttering. What better way to make room for the springtime activities, but rent a storage unit.

And providing our customers with their perfect storage needs is our mission here at StorPlace Self Storage.  Whether you are choosing an inside storage unit or an outside storage unit,  people rent self storage for many reason’s, but one of the most important is they do not want to dispose of their precious and sentimental possessions or belongings.

We offer a safe, clean environment and have many options to explore.  With the gated facility and a digital surveillance system in place, these also add value to getting your money’s worth when storing in the secure environment of StorPlace.

When a person rents self storage, it is usually for a medium to long term period.  With this in mind, climate controlled or more accurately referred to would be temperature controlled self storage is the only way to go to protect possessions from the effects of the environment.

Storing in the hot summer heat or extreme cold winter days are both good examples for considering a temperature controlled self storage space. Temperature, humidity and dust are controlled in the storage unit much like in a person’s home with air-conditioning. Controlling these factors is a must to prevent mold, mildew and corrosion.

Climate controlled or temperature controlled self storage spaces are kept at a temperature between 80 degrees and 60 degrees.  Since hallways are also temperature controlled, customers can take advantage of comfort when moving in and out their self storage space. This feature is especially nice on those extreme days when the weather and outside temperature otherwise would make it unpleasant.

You can store many different things in temperature controlled self storage which includes paintings, inventory, mattresses, clothing, electronics, photos and even fine furniture.  Many people choose to rent a unit to store only their Christmas decorations in. Of course not all items need to be temperature protected, but it is an added plus for any item.

Our storage experts can help you decide what size unit and type storage you will need to assist and make your stay with us as  pleasurable and cost efficient as possible… So if you are need of self storage, and want to get the most for your money, with as few problems as possible, then follow that yellow brick road down to the StorPlace Self Storage Murfreesboro location. Kelly and Cindy can help you decide if a climate controlled unit or regular self storage unit is the perfect right one for you!

Because no place feels more like home then StorPlace Self Storage … your friendly Neighborhood storage facility.

StorPlace Self Storage Provides Helpful Tips on How to Pick the Perfect Self Storage Facility!

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

There are many different factors to consider when you are looking to start storing your belongings in a self storage facility.  The more research you do, the more likely you are to find a facility that can accommodate all of your needs.  Here we will speak about the things you as a customer should do before selecting the facility in which you elect to place your belongings.

One of the most important things to consider is location. You don’t want to be dragging your belongings up stairs, or have to drive 10 miles just to get one thing.  One would be surprised by the amount of self-storage facilities that are out there, as well as how different each can be.

Once you pick a location, visiting the storage facility beforehand is highly recommended .You may even want to visit more than one!  When looking at properties, make sure they have a gated keypad entry, security cameras, and ease of access to the property.  Some storage facilities have a dumpster for their tenants to use, as well as other amenities like moving carts.  If you don’t like what you see, or feel as if your belongings won’t be well taken care of, you may want to visit another facility.  Storage facility operators also highly recommend looking at the space before you rent it.  Even though you may be able to picture the dimensions in your head, when you look at the space it helps you get a better idea of how your belongings will fit into the unit.  Also, the storage unit may not be in a convenient location. You can always ask the manager if there are other units available in that size in a more convenient location if you don’t like what you see.

The next thing you should consider is how long you will be storing your belongings. If you are planning on storing over the warm summer months, you may want to consider a unit that is heated and cooled.  This will save those precious items that are sensitive to the warm temperatures. This is definitely helpful here in Nashville, Tennessee during the summer.  If you are only planning on storing for a short period, some items may be fine in a drive up unit.  Let’s just say you wouldn’t want to put a baby grand piano into a drive up non heated or cooled unit.

A few other things to consider are move-in specials, late fees, and gate hours.  Some facilities have move in specials that are used to entice the customer to go with their company because it’s cheaper.  As in many other businesses, just because a unit is less expensive doesn’t make it a better fit.  You will also want to check with the storage facility about their policies and procedures when it comes to late fees.  Just like a mortgage or rent payment most storage facilities have a grace period of when the rent is due.  Make sure you carefully read their procedures and acknowledge what happens if you are ever delinquent on your rent.  Gate hours are another thing to look at.  If you are you a landscaping business that begins working before dawn, or a boating  or fisher person, you  may want to pick up your equipment or boat in the wee hours of the morning.  You will probably need 24 hour access.  Make sure to ask your facility operator if they offer 24 hour access, and if there is an additional cost.  Most facilities have reasonable gate hours, considering most people don’t need to get anything out of their units at midnight. Hoewever, StorPlace Self Storage has the longest hours of access of any  storage facility, from 6 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. You will want to check into all of these aspects before choosing a facility to store with. The more research you do, the better you will feel about storing your goods. Stop by StorPlace Self Storage and see all of the amenities mentioned in this article.  Our friendly property managers and consultants are always ready to help out!

StorPlace Self Storage Provides Tips for Storing Fabrics and Furniture

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

One of the most important tips to know when using self storage to house your belongings is to always label everything correctly and packaged everything securely. Too many people just throw their items in moving boxes that are unlabeled and then ship them off to storage in their storage units. In addition to labeling everything properly, be sure to use packing materials such as peanuts or newspaper to protect anything that is fragile. Be sure to wrap your boxes in bubble wrap or some sort of plastic in an effort to protect them from flood or moisture on the ground. This prevents your paper-based boxes and packaging from absorbing any excess water from the concrete ground. Storplace Self Storage has all these items in their offices for your convenience.

Vacuum storage bags are becoming increasingly popular. The price of vacuum storage bags has decreased considerably and is available in a wide variety of sizes. Using self storage vacuum bags to store clothing can save an immense amount of space since the point of these self storage bags is to compress everything stored in them. If most of what you are storing in your self storage unit is clothing, spending a few dollars on some self storage vacuum bags will prove to be an excellent return on your investment by keeping the clothes dry and free from dust.  Mattresses and furniture should be wrapped in some sort of plastic to protect them. At Storplace Self Storage we offer plastic shrink wrap as well as wardrobe boxes for storing clothes.  Even if stored in climate controlled storage, items such as these are always susceptible to mold and mildew and the last thing you want is mold growing on your mattress and clothing and furniture. It is critical to pack your mattresses and furniture correctly when putting it into self storage for any amount of time.

One of the primary benefits of renting a climate controlled storage unit is the well made construction that is difficult to penetrate. In order to maintain a constant temperature the climate controlled units are all extremely well insulated. This additional insulation helps to keep your items well protected from all weather and the humidity changes that come with it. Most regular storage units are designed to offer basic protection from weather such as wind, rain, and snow. Climate controlled units help protect items from frost, dew build up, and dampness.

There are many benefits to be had from the protection offered by the climate controlled storage units from humid weather. Most furniture damage people experience is comes as a result of humidity and exposure to extreme temperature. Electronics and other items will become permanently damaged after being exposed to damp weather for long periods of time. This damage can include rusting that leaves equipment unusable or permanently damaged. Furniture can be damaged as a result of mold or mildew that occurs because of the dampness and this mold or mildew can cause serious illness if not removed at once.

Another benefit of climate controlled storage is the protection offered from wildlife and insects. The additional insulation used to keep the climate control unit at a steady temperature also helps keep pests on the outside where they belong. Most rodents have a difficult time getting in and out of climate controlled buildings. Insects too have a hard time getting into storage controlled units and this difficulty will help protect your belongings from serious harm or from being ruined. StorPlace Self Storage sprays its properties once a month for bugs and insects. Also you will notice rodent bait traps placed around the property especially inside the buildings. StorPlace cares that your valuables are kept free from insect damage. Hopefully these tips will come in handy as you make your storage decisions. Feel free to visit your local Storplace Self Storage center for more helpful advice. Please come visit 5251 Mt. View Road, Antioch, TN 37013, or you can call us at 615-731-1331.

StorPlace Self Storage: What Makes Us Different

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Do you need an ‘extra room in our house’?  Many of us don’t have the benefit of a basement in our house.  Nor do we have an attic, per se, that can maintain or protect our precious belongings of days gone past from the weather and nature’s disobedient and fickle behavior.  There are so very many things that we cannot bear to part with whether it be that  one hundred year old wedding gown of our Great-Grandmother’s to those recorders and kazoos from kindergarten .The shoulder pads from our son or daughter’s first game to the mascot or cheerleading outfit.  Lest we forget, there are the love letters we will never let go of.  These are the items that we are going to want to be sure are very well preserved.

Statistics show that the higher the security level, the fewer attempts of mischief.  We are proud to boast we are in the top percentile in the security category of the Middle Tennessee Nashville region in the storage business.

You may find a few other places to store your belongings around town that are a bit lower priced.  Be sure to look at the recording devices at those locations.  Can you see each building?  Can you see each aisle way?  Can you see behind each building?  Can you see the ends of all of those buildings?  Is there a camera situated to view each entry way?  What about the office doors and the inner units of the temperature controlled units?  Are there sufficient lights all around the property?  We must remember that for nearly six months out of the year we have less and less day light after five o’clock.  Will you feel comfortable with the lighting provided?  Some of these questions may seem redundant; however, they will not come to mind until after the fact.  Be prepared going in.  Make sure you are asking the right questions when comparing  self storage facilities .

“LONGING FOR A WHITE CHRISTMAS” StorPlace Self Storage Provide Tips for Driving Safely in the Snow

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

“Oh the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful, and Since we’ve no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn’t show signs of Pause ping, And I’ve bought some corn for popping. The lights are turned way down low, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight, How I’ll hate going out in the storm! But if you’ll really hold me tight, All the way home I’ll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying, And, my dear, we’re still good-bying, But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”

These are the lyrics to a very popular Christmas song.  Longing for snow is probably on every childs’  mind. While they envision Santa flying through the night sky to bring tons of presents, they can hardly sleep.

Tis’ the season for all things wonderful and bright!  However, one thing always seems to missing, especially in the past several years, especially in Nashville, Middle, Tn.  SNOW!  As a child most of us longed for snow, especially on Christmas morning.  And now, most of us enjoy the beauty of a first fallen winter snow, but also dread the havoc it can bring.

Now that we are adults, the care-free weekdays of playing in the snow are past us.  Even though a blanket of snow on Christmas morning would be beautiful, most adults will have to return to work the day after Christmas.  The main thing on everyone’s mind at that point will be SAFETY!  Below  are  just some tips to keep in mind when there is ice/snow on the roads and on the grounds!

Driving safely on icy roads

  1. Decrease your speed and leave yourself plenty of room to stop. You should allow at least three times more space than usual between you and the car in front of you.
  2. Brake gently to avoid skidding. If your wheels start to lock up, ease off the brake.
  3. Turn on your lights to increase your visibility to other motorists.
  4. Keep your lights and windshield clean.
  5. Use low gears to keep traction, especially on hills.
  6. Don’t use cruise control or overdrive on icy roads.
  7. Nashville,Tn. is much more likely to have ice rather than snow and this makes the roads, even more treacherous.
  8. Be especially careful on bridges, overpasses and infrequently traveled roads, which will freeze first. Even at temperatures above freezing, if the conditions are wet, you might encounter ice in shady areas or on exposed roadways like bridges.
  9. Don’t pass snow plows and sanding trucks. The drivers have limited visibility, and you’re likely to find the road in front of them worse than the road behind.
  10. Don’t assume your vehicle can handle all conditions. Even four-wheel and front-wheel drive vehicles can encounter trouble on winter roads.

If your rear wheels skid…

  1. Take your foot off the accelerator.
  2. Steer in the direction you want the front wheels to go. If your rear wheels are sliding left, steer left. If they’re sliding right, steer right.
  3. If your rear wheels start sliding the other way as you recover, ease the steering wheel toward that side. You might have to steer left and right a few times to get your vehicle completely under control.
  4. If you have standard brakes, pump them gently.
  5. If you have anti-lock brakes (ABS), do not pump the brakes. Apply steady pressure to the brakes. You will feel the brakes pulse — this is normal.

If your front wheels skid…

  1. Take your foot off the gas and shift to neutral, but don’t try to steer immediately.
  2. As the wheels skid sideways, they will slow the vehicle and traction will return. As it does, steer in the direction you want to go. Then put the transmission in “drive” or release the clutch, and accelerate gently.

If you get stuck…

  1. Do not spin your wheels. This will only dig you in deeper.
  2. Turn your wheels from side to side a few times to push snow out of the way.
  3. Use a light touch on the gas, to ease your car out.
  4. Use a shovel to clear snow away from the wheels and the underside of the car.
  5. Pour sand, kitty litter, gravel or salt in the path of the wheels, to help get traction.
  6. Try rocking the vehicle. (Check your owner’s manual first — it can damage the transmission on some vehicles.) Shift from forward to reverse, and back again. Each time you’re in gear, give a light touch on the gas until the vehicle gets going.

At StorPlace Self Storage, we are always concerned about your safety. Please come visit us at 5251 Mt. View Road, Antioch, TN 37013, or you can call us at 615-731-1331.

StorPlace Self Storage Explains the Value of Why to Use Self Storage ?

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Self storage is an often overlooked service that provides a lot of convenience and peace of mind. It can be used for a wide variety of reasons. First on the list is moving. People need to think about what to do with the things they cannot take with them and are too priceless to be sold in a garage sale.

Usually, people will leave these things in their old house or in some cases, with their relatives or friends. This is pretty inconvenient especially if you wanted to retrieve those items immediately but you would still have to set up a convenient time for the retrieval.

On the other hand, self storage units are very convenient and extremely cost-effective. They can be found almost anywhere, even along highways. Here are some more reasons why you should be using self storage:

Close proximity. You can store things in a place which is close to where you live or plan to move.

Space-effective. You will be renting only the amount of space you need.

Things are safe and secured. You do not need to worry about safety as most units have great security measures and they do have special services like temperature controlled and weather proofing, enabling you to store valuable antiques without being concerned about mildew formation.

Flexible. The storage units are cost-effective. You also have the option to choose a specific size as well as the intended time frame.

Ideal when renovating. When you are renovating your home, it is ideal if you have a self storage unit where you can store your valuables.

Repository for supplies. If you run a small business, it is a great way to stockpile your surplus items.

Eliminate clutter. All excess items, be it in your house or your workplace, can be stored in self storage units so as to have a well-organized abode. Self storage will grant you a piece of mind.  You can still have belongings and not tumble over them by accident.

Selling your old house. You will now be able to give potential buyers a tour around your old house, minus all your furniture and other belongings. Safely store them in a self storage facility and subsequently retrieve them after you buy your new house.

Ideal for hobbyists and collectors. If you collect odds and ends, a self storage facility will be a great place to store all your knick-knacks. It is a great investment if you are really serious with your chosen hobby.

Self storage is a facility where you have the control over the whole process. Once you rent your storage space, you can store your items on your own. It is  like an extension to your house, where you can have unlimited and flexible access. You can rent something as small as a storage closet or as large as 600 square feet or more.

You will find a flexible and friendly agreement in our self storage facilities where you can store month to month. You can upgrade at any time if you require more space and downgrade if you find you are left with unused space.

If you are looking for a small space to store the articles of your closet or a larger space to keep all your household belongings or if you want to keep your office material in a safe and secured place, this is the most simple and cost-efficient solution. Please come visit us at 2156 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37217, or you can call us at 615-361-1000.
